DragonSword: Awakening What to Do on Launch Day
Last updated: August 2026
Day-one checklist: purchase editions, claim free Abyssal Direwolf, configure lock-on, and start Chapter 1.
Now Live — July 22–23, 2026
DragonSword: Awakening is available now on Steam worldwide. North America unlocked July 22 at 3:00 PM PT / 6:00 PM ET; Korea and Japan unlocked July 23 at 07:00 KST/JST. Korean press coverage on launch week noted a domestic chart debut at #3 and praised the relentless tag-switching action. Confirm your purchase on Steam App 4570720 and ensure 60 GB SSD space before installing.
Step 1: Purchase or Verify Your Edition
When your region unlocks per the Release Times schedule, buy directly on Steam App 4570720. Standard Edition ($29.99 / ₩33,000) includes the full game and all 19 launch heroes via quests and exchange — no gacha. Deluxe Edition adds artbook, soundtrack, and Valiant Hatchling Familiar at 10% launch discount (₩49,500 / ~$44.99). Compare on our DLC & Editions page.
Step 2: Claim Free Launch Rewards
Immediately claim the Abyssal Direwolf Familiar — free for all players from launch through August 31, 2026. Hound13 offers it at 100% discount as a launch thank-you; after August 31 it returns to paid DLC pricing. No external redeem codes required — check in-game mail or the promotional menu after first login.
Step 3: Configure Recommended Settings
Enable the new lock-on system and optional aim assist in settings — retail additions addressing top demo feedback. Install on SSD with 60 GB free space per store requirements. Set interface language among eleven supported options; voice acting remains Korean with subtitles in all languages.
Step 4: Start Your Orbis Journey
Begin Chapter 1 as Lute joining Johnny Mercenary — demo veterans restart from scratch because save data does not transfer. Read the Beginner Combat Tips guide and First Hours walkthrough before your first boss, then experiment with teams in the Team Builder. Watch the official launch trailer below for retail gameplay captured from the July 16 build.
