DragonSword: Awakening Week One Progression Guide
Last updated: August 2026
Launch week roadmap: Chapter 2–3 pacing, promotion quests, daily loops, and when to start Hunts after Patch 1.0.3.
Days 1–2: Chapter 1 and Settings
Install to SSD, enable lock-on and optional aim assist, claim Abyssal Direwolf before August 31, 2026, and update through Patch 1.0.3. Rush main story until Johnny, Castella, and Aria form your mercenary trio — the canonical Break → Stun → Airborne loop. Read First Hours After Launch and Beginner Combat Tips before grinding side content.
Days 3–4: Chapter 2 and Promotions
Chapter 2 introduces the Six Heroes statue cleaning, scripted Saintess Ysera loss, and Altar pillar puzzle — follow our Chapter 2 walkthrough. After Patch 1.0.3, the Intermediate Promotion prison door opens correctly; if stuck, verify your client updated. Unlock Shadowed Woods via the fire-puzzle Eona's Legacy quest when exploration opens.
Days 5–7: Chapter 3 and Daily Loops
Chapter 3 sends the party to Lord Barduk — see the Chapter 3 walkthrough. Once main story milestones unlock endgame systems, start the daily loop: Regional Missions for Skill Scrolls and Forging Molds, World Bosses for Karma duplicates, and Sudden Missions for Sacred Light fragments. Our Daily Routine guide explains the ~9 AM reset window restored in Patch 1.0.3.
When To Start Hunts, Raids, and Tower
After story unlocks Hunts, replay bosses for Record of Battle skill levels. Raids become relevant when you need top-tier forging materials — solo and co-op share loot tables per Hound13 design. Begin Tower of Trials climbs when you accumulate Moon Keys from Regional Missions; spend keys on floors matching your Karma ascension targets rather than pushing depth blindly.
Hero and Karma Priorities
Spend Fate's Invitation tickets on heroes filling missing ailment roles — see Fate's Invitation guide. Upgrade your main DPS first via Combat Texts and Breakthrough before spreading resources. Karma ascension from World Boss dupes feeds long-term power — details in Karma & Ascension.
