DragonSword: Awakening Co-op Raids Guide

Last updated: August 2026

Three-player Raid mechanics, host rules, loot parity for solo play, and ailment teams for multi-phase bosses.

Raids Overview

Raids are multi-phase boss encounters supporting up to three players at launch. Producer JYJ demonstrated Raid boss footage in the May 2026 developer stream — Banak and additional bosses appear in the embedded video below. Raids guard the best equipment materials; Hunts replay story bosses while Raids scale mechanics for longer fights.

Host Rules and Matchmaking

Raids use host-based multiplayer without region lock per developer Q&A. The host selects the Raid and invites friends or uses in-game matchmaking where available. Two-player co-op also exists for standard Battle content and Hunts — Raids specifically allow three players. Connection quality affects timing-sensitive Switching Signals; wired connections help during QTE-heavy phases.

Solo vs Co-op Loot Parity

Hound13 confirmed solo Raid completion grants identical reward tables to full parties — co-op is convenience, not mandatory for progression. If matchmaking fails during launch week, solo with ailment-optimized teams from our Builds hub. Rectify Gaming notes endgame enjoyment depends on tolerance for repeated runs regardless of player count.

Recommended Team Roles

Assign one player Break/Stun control, one sustained DPS (Bleed or Fire), and one finisher with Airborne or Knockdown for mount windows. Johnny anchors co-op Stun while allies execute Tag Combos — see Johnny guide. Validate trio coverage before queuing. After Raids, rotate World Bosses and Tower floors per the Endgame guide.
